Southcreek (Gravel)

Description

If you’re like me and enjoy having a food/beer oriented destination in a ride, this is a route you will like. It starts with some fairly unromantic city riding but as you get over Windy Hill it gets quite pretty. If you’ve never rode in this area before, you’ll swear you were transported into another city as the scenery turns from urban to a bit more countryside until you pop out at Southcreek Shopping center. It’s here where you have the option of getting a thin crust pizza and beer at Southcreek Pizza, the world’s best dirty chai at Bibo Coffee, a delicious sandwich at Yosh’s or even more beer at Beer NV.

The route back takes you through Anderson Park which is a fun little park area with some gravel roads and a small section of single track that take you up the back side of Windy Hill. This is a little technical so if you’re not comfortable on steeper single track, maybe start with the Southcreek Gravel (Lite) option which navigates you around windy, through Bartley Ranch, instead.

If you want to ride to pizza but only have skinny tires, see the road version here.

highlights

  • Short dirt stretch in Holcomb Ranch
  • Pizza, Beer, Coffee

lowlights

  • Some fairly bland bike lane riding before Windy Hill
