Stampede Gravel

50.2 miles | 3,654 ft | gravel

Description

This is the best gravel ride I’ve done in the area to date. If you’re used to chunky, rocky, Nevada gravel, you will love these roads. It’s as hard packed of dirt as you can ask for, mostly sub 5% grades the entire route, and beautiful scenery. This is a true gravel bike ride. A cross country mountain bike would work fine but anything else will feel too slow on the hard packed sections.

The ride is mostly smooth dirt but there is a section or two of some semi rocky dirt roads but nothing you’ll remember after climbing up the beauty that is Smithneck Road. If you only have time to do one gravel ride while you’re in Reno, I’d recommend this one.
